Windows

Windows and doors are a very important component in any energy efficient home and Avilion have taken considerable care in selecting partners who provide windows that meet our criteria for quality of construction, aesthetics and ease of maintenance.

Select from slow-grown pine, painted or stained in a wide range of microporous paint colours or durable hardwood “Meranti” stained in your choice of 8 attractive stains. If you prefer aluminium, the Reynaers extensive range of high performance windows is available.

Top-Glas Ultra double glazingYour home is going to be insulated to give U values (heat transfer coefficient) of 0.24 W/m2K or better so it makes little sense compromising on windows. Many windows have air-filled cavities and U values of 2 W/m2K but windows we supply will typically be twice as well insulated with argon-filled cavities. In colder climates we can offer windows with U values of 0.8 W/m2K if desired and where the budget supports the higher cost.

Our Natura range are constructed using thermally efficient Top-Glas Ultra double glazing units that include a Thermofloat 1.0 with a low-emission layer of minute particles of precious metals that transmit light and solar energy inside while slowing, dramatically, the heat transfer to outside.

We can offer a wide range of hinge arrangements from a conventional, side hung, outward opening window to inward opening, tilt and turn and the security features of all the products are state of the art.

Sliding/folding doors are increasing in popularity and are well worth considering, especially if you wish to take advantage of fine views or are fortunate to enjoy a climate that permits you to “bring the outside in”. Through our partners we can supply either outward opening (more usual in UK) or inward opening doors (more usual but not exclusive to the continent).

A range of high quality, exterior doors is available but perhaps your budget supports manufacture of a solid wood, bespoke door to a design that complements your home.
