High quality timber frame homes in France and the UK

Loading the player...

Timber frame homes are increasing in popularity. The increased focus on build sustainability, carbon footprints and the economics of insulation has brought timber frame construction to the fore. Carbon is locked into trees grown in sustainable, managed forests for the timber industry. This method of construction therefore helps control CO2 emissions. Cement manufacture is, by contrast, one of the greatest sources of CO2 emissions.

Timber frame has been the principle method of construction in North America, Scandinavia and even Scotland for many years and its origins can be traced back over a thousand years. Rapidly increasing energy costs make timber frame construction the method of choice, not just for the future of our world but the running costs of our homes.

Due to a current high demand in orders, we are ONLY able to offer watertight and turn-key builds in the immediate area around our two offices; our offices are in the Northern Dordogne with a second in Poitou Charente. Our Frames are available in a wider area on a supply only basis, if you have a local builder, or you want to complete the works yourself. We are still providing a service for designs & planning applications, and we are happy to discuss your requirements in more detail. Our apologies if the above means that we cannot help with your project, and our very best wishes taking it forward with another constructor.

Avilion is setting new standards in timber frame homes by combining Scandinavian standards of materials, products and insulation technology with distinctive styling and craftsmanship.

Avilion timber frame homes are frequently bespoke, designed and built to meet each customer's specific requirements, although you may find one of our standard designs meets your requirements as it is, or with a slight modification. Every home is constructed precisely; from the highest quality materials and to the highest levels of energy efficiency; levels that are virtually impossible to achieve using conventional brick and block building methods.
